Welcome to JPC

Where Atlanta Kids Unplug and Play

For over 50 years, Josh Powell Camp has been Atlanta's most beloved day camp. A place where children between ages 5 and 10 trade screens for streams, and weekday routines for ropes courses and real adventure.

We believe childhood should feel like childhood. That means dirt under fingernails, sunscreen on noses, and friendships forged at the archery range.

Our passionate counselors, experienced teachers and energetic college students make every session the best week of your kid's year.

With 11 summer sessions and camps during every school break, we're not just a summer camp. We're a year-round home base for outdoor childhood.

Our Story

A little ‘bout Josh Powell Camp

Josh Powell Camp was founded in 1972 with a simple belief. Kids grow best when they're free to explore, play, and connect with nature and each other. For over 50 years, that belief has never changed.

What started as a small summer program has grown into Atlanta's most trusted year-round outdoor camp, but our spirit has stayed the same. We're not a corporate camp franchise. We're a family-run community that genuinely cares about every single child who walks through our gates.

Our counselors are elementary school teachers and passionate college students who bring creativity, patience, and boundless energy to every session. We vet them carefully, because your children deserve the best.

We offer 11 sessions during the summer, as well as camps during Fall, Winter and Spring breaks, for 5-10 year olds.

No tech distractions, just simple outdoor fun. A typical session includes the following activities, but there are always some fun additions made by our creative counselors:

Arts and Crafts, Canoeing, Ropes Course, Fort Building, Tether Ball, Archery, Kickball, Nature Walks, Jewelry Making, Ga Ga Ball, Swimming, and more!

Let us know if you have any questions by sending us a note to Hey@JoshPowellCamp.com or check-out our FAQ section!
