Winter Break Camp Sessions: December and February

Most Atlanta families face two separate winter breaks, and we run camp for both..

Winter Break Camp Atlanta

December 21 and 22, 2026

The two school days before Christmas, when schools have closed but most workplaces have not. A short, festive session with a visit from Santa, holiday crafts and all the usual outdoor camp favourites.

Winter Break Camp Atlanta

February 15 to 19, 2027

Presidents Day week, when most metro Atlanta districts close for a full week in the middle of February. Bookable as 2, 3, 4 or 5 days so you only cover the days you need. Both sessions run 8am to 3pm.

The February session is the one most parents forget about until the week arrives. It is a full week of school closure in the middle of term with no holiday attached, and it catches working families out every year. Worth booking early.

Why Choose JPC

What Makes Our Winter Break Camp in Atlanta Different

Georgia winters are perfect for outdoor play. While most winter break camps in Atlanta keep kids stuck indoors watching movies or playing video games, Josh Powell Camp gets them OUTSIDE for real adventure on our 30-acre campus.

For over 50 years, Atlanta families have trusted us to deliver the same outdoor magic in winter that we do all summer long. We're not an indoor play center or a franchise gym. We're a family-owned outdoor camp where kids build forts, ride ponies, meet Santa, and make memories during their Christmas break.

Here's what makes Josh Powell the best winter break camp in Atlanta:

No Technology Policy - Kids are required to leave all electronics at home. Real outdoor play, not screen time — the way childhood should be.

Family-Owned Since 1972 - We're not a corporate franchise. We're a local family that's been serving Atlanta families for over five decades.

Teacher-Led Staff - Our counselors are experienced elementary school teachers and college students who genuinely love working with kids.

Year-Round Camps - We run camps during every school break — fall, winter, spring, and of course all summer long. More touchpoints with your family.

Bus Pickup Included - Three convenient pickup locations across Atlanta. No need to drive to Acworth — we come to you.

Josh Powell Winter Break Camp Atlanta

Atlanta's Trusted Winter Break Camp Since 1972

For over 50 years, Josh Powell Camp has been Atlanta's most trusted winter break camp. Families across Gwinnett, Dekalb, Cobb, and Fulton counties choose our winter camp in Atlanta because we get kids outside, away from screens, and into real outdoor adventure.
