Family Owned and Operated

Founded by Josh Powell in 1972, Josh Powell Summer Day camp has been family owned and operated from day one. After Josh Powell passed away, Karen Powell continued operating the camp until 2014, when she decided to pass the torch to family friend (also, 10-time Josh Powell counselor and 30-year 1st grade teacher), Suzanne Quinlan, and her nephew, Jason Kay, a 3-time camper at Josh Powell and an experienced camp counselor of various camps in the Atlanta area. We (Jason and Suzanne) are bringing our experience to JPC in order to continue serving the children of our community during such a formative time of their lives. Our intent is to help mold your 5-9 year olds as best we can in the time we have with them. The lessons they learn in the weeks during camp will last them a lifetime - there are few experiences like the unplugged and get-dirty experience of Josh Powell Summer Camp.
